About Aru N'egwu

Aru N'egwu Latin Dance Company is fully dedicated to the dissemination of Latin culture through artistic expression in all forms.

African culture is deeply embedded within the roots of latin music, especially Salsa. In order to reflect the group's sensual, African body movement style, Eli Torres decided to name the group Aru N'egwu from the Nigerian Igbo language meaning "body in the state of dance."

Known for their sharpness, uniqueness, and extreme sensuality, Aru N'egwu strives to establish a world-renowned company drawing the attention of millions around the globe through their artistic force and onstage execution.

Aru N'egwu is the brilliant creation of Philadelphia's very own Eli Torres.
